Luxury meets practicality. The Sisters Hoodie is made in Bend, Oregon from 225 gsm 100% pure New Zealand merino wool. We tested it on the West Highland Way in Scotland, the Pacific Crest Trail and the Arizona Trail. It IS the ultimate base-layer or stand-alone shirt for cooler weather. It looks and feels so sexy, but is also incredibly practical for cool to cold weather adventures.

This hoodie is sized to be worn as a base-layer OR mid and outer layer depending on the size you select. For the most versatility, select your normal size and you will receive a hoodie that can be a base layer, outer layer or anything in between. If you want strictly a base-layer, definitely size down. For example, I wear a mens XL top always, but I cut mine as a mens Large because of what I want it for. I want a true base layer and it is just right for that, but still isn't so tight that I couldnt wear it as an athletic fitting top by itself.

What we found this hoodie is great for:
- a base-layer top for cool to cold days
- a stand-alone hiking top for cool days
- a great layer for wet weather
- a do-anything layer for multiple days on trail or in the backcountry. Naturally antimicrobial wool never gets stinky or funky, and handles a wide range of temperature and moisture.
- an incredibly comfortable sleeping layer
- a stylish hoodie to wear around town or get cozy with at home
What we found this hoodie is not great for:
- very warm weather. For that, see the Mazama Sun Hoodie.
- super ultralight backpacking. Merino wool is not ultralight. Sometimes that doesnt matter, sometimes it does. Cold weather backpacking, or any cold weather adventures, usually are not ultralight adventures anyway. Staying comfortable takes priority.
I promise you will never want to take this hoodie off. The wool I am using is just so dreamy to wear and less synthetic feeling compared to what you get with the big brands. Treat yourself to some USA-made luxury outdoor apparel.
