Still crazy light, breathable, hydrophobic, durable and packable, but with more thickness and insulation. Venture into colder weather with this version of the Bend Alpha hoodie!
 
Order it with no pockets for the lightest, thinnest and most compressible garment. Works great this way as a base-layer, mid-layer or as an ultralight outer-layer. OR, complete the package and luxuriate with my YKK-zippered super sleek kangaroo pocket! Keep your mits warm on those cold days, securely store your valuables, and be able to close the pockets tight during bushwhacks to prevent snagging and tearing of your hoodie. The pocket is purposely low slung on the garment so it can be accessible and used with most types of pack waist belts. 
 
Personalize your Bend Alpha 120 hoodie with your own choice of body and accent colors! Accent colors are the drawstrings and zippers. I am really digging this pop of orange on the glacier blue body! In any case, you get to participate in the design of your hand-made hoodie and build yourself something uniquely you.
 
A note on sizing: If in any doubt about your sizing, SIZE UP. Polartec Alpha fabric has almost no stretch. You need to have some room to move. If between sizes at all, size up.
 
Update: We are finding this hoodie is a fantastic replacement to your puffy jacket. I no longer carry a puffer on the trail, just my Alpha 120 hoodie. Its lighter, just as warm (when paired with a rain or wind shell), cheaper, WAY more breathable, hydrophobic, more durable and easier to care for. A note about carrying a shell: Highly recommend a rain or wind shell to pair with this hoodie on a long trip, where you can expect wide swings in weather. It breathes SO well that there will be times when heat retention is going to be more important than breathability. But for thru-hikers, you are carrying one anyway so....

Without the pocket option, this is literally the same as the Bend Alpha 90 hoodie but with heavier fabric. 33% heavier to be exact. So with that we know the weight range will be 5 ounces for a womens XS, and about 7.5 ounces for a mens XL, putting the average weight at 6.25 ounces. I wear a mens XL and I have weighed it at just about 7.5 ounces. The front pocket adds about 1.5 ounces of weight and is again, size dependent. A little more for larger sizes and a little less for smaller sizes. My MENS XL with front pocket (pictured) is exactly 9.5 ounces, this putting it 4 ounces lighter than my Tahoma hoodie and 4 ounces heavier than my Bend Alpha 90 hoodie with no pocket. So, I nice middle of the road choice.
